After months of dry weather, Arizona residents woke to a rare sight March 7, 2025: rainy skies and snowy streets.

Power was out around Arizona on Friday due to the rainy weather.

The Arizona Public Service Co., on its website, reported seven outages in metro Phoenix with 468 customers affected, four outages in northwestern Arizona affecting 82 customers, and four outages in southeastern Arizona affecting 68 customers as of 9:45 a.m. Friday.

Phoenix received about 0.16 of an inch of rain Thursday night, and wind and showers continued into Friday morning, impacting power all around Arizona. Rain was expected to continue through Friday before clearing up late Friday evening.

APS senior communications consultant and media relations representative, Yessica Del Rincon said, "APS crews are out in the field this morning assessing storm-related damage and working to restore power. At its height, the storm knocked out power to about 4,800 customers statewide. APS grid operators have already restored power to the majority of those customers. We appreciate the patience of our customers as APS crews work to safely and quickly make repairs."

Salt River Project spokesperson Patty Garcia-Likens said most of the SRP outages in Arizona were in Phoenix and estimated restoration times vary between 15 minutes and several hours.

Garcia-Likens added, "We have about 1,500 customers out of power, and it appears the outages are weather-related. We have crews out there working to get the customers back in power safely and quickly."

Crews were working on restoring power to those left without it due to the weather.
