WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - A group of cyclists crossed into Kansas Monday and found themselves taking advantage of a decent tailwind. The manager of the cyclists said they were averaging 30 miles per hour, but then the wind shifted against the riders, causing them to pedal head-on into the wind, which slowed them down. The group, made up of eight cyclists from Pennsylvania, is riding across the United States against child trafficking. The cyclists started in Oceanside, California, on Saturday and hope to end in Atlantic City, New Jersey, within six days, riding into New Jersey on Friday. The eight cyclists ride as a group, with each person rotating between a 15-minute sprint to the front for 3,000 miles. ZOE International organizes the Race Across America. ZOE International helps prevent, rescue, and assist those affected by human trafficking in five countries: the United States, Thailand, Mexico, Japan, and Australia.
