A man has died following an altercation in the parking lot of Elevation Lounge on Norwood Avenue, as confirmed by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. The victim, a man in his 20s, was found with at least one gunshot wound to his upper torso behind a car early Friday morning. Dispatched at approximately 1:40 a.m., officers and paramedics rushed to the scene, transporting the man to UF Health hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries, Sergeant Steve Rudlaff reported to News4Jax .

Details surrounding the incident indicate that the victim was involved in an argument while several patrons were departing the club at closing time. The confrontation led to the man and an associate leaving in a sedan; shortly after, witnesses heard multiple gunshots. When the authorities arrived, the car was found to have several bullet holes, suggesting the violence that unfolded. As per the statement obtained from First Coast News , JSO is currently searching for the second man involved, and it is not yet clear whether the shooting occurred inside or outside the vehicle or if the victim or his companion was driving at the time of the attack.

Authorities are also looking to question the registered owner of the vehicle, who according to Sgt. Rudlaff, does not match the description of either individuals involved. Unfortunately, many witnesses present during the parking lot incident had left before police could secure their testimonies.
