Fire crews responded to a reported fire in the 8100 block of Wilson Avenue near I-435 at 2:15 p.m.Firefighters reported heavy fire from a large pile of scrap metal and debris. Smoke from the fire could be seen from far away.Crews battling the fire used machinery to pull the pile apart to apply water.
