PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. (7News) — A Maryland man has been arrested after fatally shooting his girlfriend, officials said.

Rogerio Palma, 32, of College Park, Maryland, was charged with both first and second-degree murder of Brianna Burton, 24, of Centreville, Virginia, according to the Prince George’s County Police Department.

Burton was dropped off at a hospital at 7:20 a.m. where she later died on April 27, according to Montgomery County Police (MCP) who investigated the initial report. Investigators found she was shot in Prince George’s County.

Palma was arrested on April 29 and is in the custody of Prince George’s County Department of Corrections, officials said.
