(WASHINGTON, D.C.) On Tuesday, President Donald Trump delivered a joint address to Congress , his first address since returning to the White House. "We have accomplished more in 43 days than most administrations accomplish in four yeas or eight years. And we are just getting started," Trump proclaimed. Following Trump's speech, lawmakers from Missouri and Kansas shared their thoughts. "It was an honor to welcome President Trump back to the People's House and hear his vision for renewing the American Dream," Representative Sam Graves (R-Mo.) stated. "It is a new day in Washington and President Trump is doing exactly what he promised to do. Our border was out of control, but it has taken him no time to stem the tide of illegal immigration. Green New Deal Spending was rampant, but the President has shut off the spigot for far-left pet projects. Energy prices are crushing American families, but President Trump is reducing regulations and unleashing American energy independence. The federal government desperately needed to be reined in, and the President is doing exactly that. Common sense is back and I look forward to continuing work with President Trump to ensure America becomes even stronger. Welcome to the Golden Age of America." Representative Derek Schmidt (R-Kan.) said in a release, "After four years of weakness, strength is back in the White House and President Trump is already delivering on his promise of a safe and prosperous nation for the American people. House Republicans are moving quickly and decisively to implement the President's America First agenda by passing legislation to secure the border, restore energy independence, shrink the size of government, and curb the runaway federal spending that has fueled the inflation. We're slashing red tape, taking power back from unelected bureaucrats, and working hard every day to make the changes Kansans expect us to make."
