JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KFVS) - Missouri Treasurer Vivek Malek says his department will match the first $50 saved in new Missouri MOST 529 savings plans during May.

Malek says the $50 will only be matched for the first 800 accounts opened in May.

MOST 529 plans are education savings plans.

The accounts can be used to pay tuition for K-12 schools, apprenticeships, trade schools or colleges & universities.

The money can be used for expenses like books, room & board or computer equipment.

“A good education is one of the most vital ways you can contribute to your child’s development and future success into adulthood,” said Treasurer Malek.
