Opening Day is fast approaching for Major League Baseball, and the Arizona Diamondbacks ' stadium issue seems to be growing.

A recent poll from eight USA TODAY Network reporters and editors ranked MLB's stadiums ahead of the 2025 season.

Two stadiums of the 30 teams were excluded from the rankings. The Tampa Bay Rays (hurricane damage to Tropicana Field) and the Athletics (en route to Vegas) temporarily are moving into minor-league ballparks.

Chase Field, which opened in 1998 and features a pool in the outfield stands , ranked ahead of only the Chicago White Sox 's home, Rate Field, which opened in 1991.

The White Sox went 41-121 and were last in the league last season.

Age isn't that big of a factor as PNC Park, home to the Pittsburgh Pirates , grabbed the highest honors and opened three years after Chase Field.

However, there are plans from Diamondbacks president Derrick Hall and owner Ken Kendrick to improve the stadium.

In February, Hall said they are continuing to work with lawmakers and local officials to build bipartisan support for legislation that would provide funding to refurbish Chase Field.
