OCEAN CITY, Md. – Ocean City police are updating the public on an armed robbery spree investigation from 2022. There were three separate incidents that took place in Ocean City. The first occurred on June 15, 2022, when officers responded to an armed robbery on 16th Street and Philadelphia Avenue. The suspects fled before police arrived. They were identified as 22-year-old Takala Robinson and 18-year-old Jordan Moses. Tourist Kaiser Hall told WMDT he wants the legal system to hold the convicted criminals accountable. “My feeling is the court needs to put them away and let them do the time, and not give them a slap on the wrist,” Hall said. The spree continued on June 18, 2022, when the duo robbed a victim shortly after 10 p.m. About an hour later, they robbed another victim walking along Washington Lane. The spike in crime shook Ocean City residents. Linda Rutherford, originally from Shreveport, Louisiana, was visiting her sister. She remains comfortable despite safety concerns. “Well, I feel safe here. I see many patrolmen walking around on bikes and on foot. I feel like there are a lot of people watching everywhere,” Rutherford said. The crime spree ended when Baltimore County police arrested Robinson, Moses and a third juvenile suspect. Ocean City detectives traveled to Baltimore and, through joint collaboration, confirmed the group was responsible for all three incidents in Ocean City. Robinson and Moses were also linked to multiple shootings and a homicide in another part of Maryland. On Jan. 10, Robinson pleaded guilty to various crimes and was sentenced to 25 years in prison. Moses also pleaded guilty to the robberies and to the murder of Anthony Johnson. He was sentenced to life in prison.
