Jaguars' QB Trevor Lawrence is feeling "really good" following the team's first OTA practice.

The Jacksonville Jaguars were on the practice field on Monday for OTAs, and so was quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who continues to feel better and better as he works his way back from shoulder surgery.

"I went for a solid three and a half-plus months without throwing just with the shoulder deal," Lawrence said after Monday's practice . "So starting to throw just a little bit before OTAs and working into it and I feel really good now. I feel like my arm is back in shape. Feel like I'm getting sharper and sharper every day."

Lawrence suffered the shoulder injury in Week 9 of last season and missed Weeks 10 and 11. However, once he was placed on IR due to a concussion, he and the team thought it was best to get the shoulder surgery at that time , rather than putting it off until the end of the season.

Back on April 9th, when the Jaguars reconvened for Phase I of offseason programs, Liam Coen said at that time that Lawrence would be on a "pitch count." However, roughly five weeks later, Lawrence was going through the team drills during Monday's practice.

Along with rehabbing his left shoulder, one of the points of emphasis this offseason for Lawrence was on his footwork. Within Coen's offensive scheme, the quarterback's footwork is tied to the progressions he's making, and the two components have to be working in unison.

"I feel really good," Lawrence said about his footwork. "It was something I was able to work coming into OTAs just on my own when I was first starting to throw the first couple weeks before we started. I was able to work the footwork and it was foreign to me a little bit then, but now it feels more comfortable just having a ton of banked reps."

As far as the new offensive system, there is still learning to be done, specifically transferring what's in the playbook to the football field with those live reps, and there are still aspects of the offense that need to be implemented. But Lawrence likes what he is seeing.

"I really like it," Lawrence said. "It has a lot of answers. It's great. It puts a lot on the players, you have to know your stuff, but it gives you all the answers. You don't feel like you're stuck in a play that's not set up for success. We change the presentation a lot. We make a lot of things look the same. Without going into too much detail, there's a lot of things I like about it."
