SALEM, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Ronald “Ronnie” White, 79, passed away unexpectedly Friday, April 26, 2024, at Mercy Health’s St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown after taking ill at home.

Ronnie was born May 5, 1944, in East Liverpool, Ohio, a son of the late Robert and Gloria (Headley) White.

A 1963 graduate of Beaver Local High School , Ronnie worked as an electrician with several area electrical contractors.

During his youth, Ronnie attended the Longs Run Presbyterian Church. He was a Past Exalted Ruler of the Salem BOP Elks Lodge #305; and enjoyed traveling, dining out, and boat rides on Guilford Lake.

Ronnie was also a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, having served in Vietnam. He was also responsible for monitoring the vital signs of the astronauts during both lunar landings for NASA.

His wife of 39 years, Judy Faye (Harrold) White, preceded him in death earlier this year on January 6, 2024.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his brother, Randy (Debbie) White of New Springfield, Ohio; brothers-in-law, Steve Harrold of Washingtonville, and Bob (Mary Kay) Harrold of East Liverpool; sisters-in-law, Linda Harrold and Penny Harrold, both of Lisbon; niece, Michelle (Chris) Tackett of Rocky Top, Tennessee and several other nieces and nephews.

An Elks service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home, immediately followed by a funeral service officiated by John May. Military honors will also be accorded by the Salem Honor Guard.

Private burial will take place at the East Carmel Cemetery in Rogers at a later date.

The family will receive guests from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
