SHENANDOAH — Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker’s office was closed Wednesday and Thursday — and may be closed on Friday — due to minor flooding inside the building blamed on heavy rain.

A sign on the door Thursday notified visitors that the office was closed Wednesday and Thursday due to an emergency.

Schuylkill County Deputy Court Administrator John Richmond said the water issue was noticed from the recent heavy rains. About 1/4 of an inch of water soaked the floors in the building, Richmond said.

A decision on whether to close the office on Friday has not been determined, he said.

In the meantime, hearings have been held at Magistrate District Judge Edward Tarantelli’s courtroom in Frackville, 619 W. Oak St.

Richmond said calls were made to alert people with hearings of the change of location.
