The St. Louis area is gearing up for a mix of weather conditions over the coming days, including the potential for hazardous thunderstorms. Today, residents can expect patchy fog in the early morning hours before it becomes mostly sunny with temperatures rising up to a high near 91°, according to the National Weather Service of St. Louis, MO.

Tonight, the weather will shift, presenting a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 am, and again after 2 am. The low will hover around 73° with a gentle south wind. An Air Quality Alert is also in effect for the St. Louis metropolitan area "from 10 AM to 8 PM CDT Tuesday," due to expected levels of ozone that could pose health risks, especially for vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and those with respiratory problems. The St. Louis Clean Air Partnership recommends reducing outdoor physical activity and considering alternative transportation options like telecommuting or public transit.

Wednesday is set to bring a significant chance of showers and thunderstorms; mainly after 1 pm, with a high of around 86°, and southwest winds gusting as high as 22 mph. The "chance of precipitation is 80%," as per the NWS report. Wednesday night will continue with a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms before lessening to only showers between 10 pm and 1 am.

Celebrations for Juneteenth on Thursday will be met by sunny skies, with a forecast high of 86° and light northwest winds. The weather outlook remains mostly clear through the weekend, with rising temperatures expected to peak near 97° on Saturday and Sunday. While sunny days may provide room for outdoor activities, the St. Louis Clean Air Partnership warns residents to be mindful of air quality and take precautions, like minimizing the use of gasoline-powered equipment and avoiding excessive vehicle idling.
