ORLANDO, Fla. -- A pair of Staten Island teams were crowned champions at the Flag Football Youth World Championships at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports facility in Walt Disney World.

THT’s 17u squad , led by coaches Anthony Martinez and Tommy DeAngelis Jr., edged Athena Athletics (Pa.), 16-15, in an overtimes thriller to cop the World title. The Islanders had a perfect 8-0 mark in the tourney, scoring 151 points overall.
