Patchy mist, drizzle, and fog will gradually lift midday into the early afternoon hours. Isolated to widely scattered strong storms will be possible after 5 pm through 11 pm today.

Warmer Tuesday with isolated strong evening storms

While this Tuesday is starting off gloomy, we'll see some improvements with our weather conditions this afternoon. Early morning patchy fog, drizzle, and showers will exit the area by lunchtime.

This afternoon looks warmer and more muggy with mostly cloudy to cloudy skies. Temperatures will be much warmer than the past few days with highs in the upper 70s to around 80°. As a warm front continues to slowly lift north, isolated to widely scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop between 5 pm and 11 pm. Some isolated storms with damaging winds and a stray weak tornado are possible, especially west and south of Baltimore.

Overnight lows tonight will be much warmer with muggy conditions. Lows will drop into the lower 70s.

Sweating it out then stormy Wednesday

A preview of summer-like heat and humidity is on the way Wednesday and Thursday. With very high humidity levels, temperatures will climb to 90° Wednesday and into the lower 90s Thursday. When you factor in the humidity, feels like temperatures will be in the middle to upper 90s Wednesday afternoon and near 100° to 105° Thursday.

Strong to severe thunderstorms will also be a possibility Wednesday and Thursday afternoon and evening. Strong storms will develop after 2 pm Wednesday and continue through about 8 pm. Wednesday's storms should feature heavy downpours, intense lightning, and gusty winds. Severe weather Wednesday afternoon should be rather limited, despite storms being widespread.

Alert Day with severe storms Thursday afternoon and evening

After a very hot Thursday with high temperatures in the lower 90s and feels like temperatures in the 100s, the heat of the day will end with a bang. Severe storms will develop after 3 pm and the risk will linger until at least 9 pm. These storms will pack the greatest punch with pockets of damaging winds and hail possible. In addition to damaging winds and hail, intense lightning and torrential downpours are possible. For this reason, the WJZ First Alert Weather Team has issued an Alert Day Thursday for the threat of disruptive and possibly damaging thunderstorms.

Fantastic Friday

Friday will be our best weather day in the foreseeable future. Look for lower humidity, plenty of sunshine, a comfortable breeze with highs in the upper 80s. The weather looks absolutely delightful! Friday is also the first day of summer with it arriving at 7:41 pm.

Intense Summer Heat

The weekend is looking hot and humid, but dry! This is excellent news for any outdoor plans. If you're headed to AFRAM, make sure to dress for the heat with light weight and light colored clothing and drinking plenty of water. Highs Saturday will reach the lower 90s. Sunday's high temperatures will reach the middle 90s. Heat index values will reach the upper 90s to near 100°.

Dangerous heat with Alert Days likely begin Monday and may continue into a good chunk of next week as high temperatures climb to near 100° with heat index values of 105° to 110°. Combine this intense daytime heat with oppressive overnight lows near 80° and this will be a potentially dangerous heat wave.
