The best team in the National Women’s Soccer League looks to keep its distance from the pack on Saturday night, as the Kansas City Current plays host to Racing Louisville.

The Current are playing like a club that cannot be stopped. They started the season with wins in five straight matches, but hit a little bit of a speed bump when they lost back-to-back games. However, Kansas City has stormed back with victories in four straight league contests, two of which have come by double digits.

KC also scored a tough 1-0 win on the road against the reigning NWSL champion Orlando Pride.

While Louisville might not be on the same level of heater that the Current are on, the club has been playing well as of late in its quest to stay in the playoff picture. Following a tough 1-0 loss at home to the Seattle Reign, Louisville has won back-to-back matches and is victorious in four of its past five contests.

The Current came into the weekend atop the league standings, five points ahead of the Pride and Washington Spirit. Louisville is sitting tied for fifth in the league, 10 points back of KC.
