Zara Tindall is considered a style icon within the royal sphere, with her fashion sense leading to her being named an official brand ambassador for Fairfax and Favor. Over the last decade, we have seen the Princess Royal's daughters style rapidly change over the years.

She has become renowned for her classy and elegant pieces , all of which are always tailored to perfection. It is hard to imagine that the King's niece, who turned 44 today, has ever put a foot wrong when it comes to fashion. However, in the late 90’s and early 2000’s, her fashion sense was somewhat questionable – particularly when she attended a high-profile wedding.

In 2003, the year she met her now husband, Mike Tindall , the royal attended the wedding of former national hunt jockey Luke Harvey and Georgie Brown. Her bold look turned heads, but for all the wrong reasons.

Zara broke a series of strict fashion rules – one being, never to wear white to a wedding in order to not upstage the bride.

She sported a white jacket that featured a black pattern and a button-down fastening. She paired this with a crisp white midi skirt and belt.

Her shoes were equally questionable, as they would have made the perfect footwear for a blushing bride. Zara matched the white kitten heels with a coordinating shoulder bag.

It appears other guests attending thankfully adhered to social etiquette, and her pal who was snapped in the picture donned a gorgeous floral print.

Although we do not know the specific dress code, the bride and groom may have encouraged their family and friends to sport hues of white; nevertheless, it’s a surprising rule to break.

Zara has never been one for flashy statements and prefers British elegance over fleeting trends. In recent months we have seen her favour pretty floral dresses and pastel tones.
